The Signs of a Salvage Title Car

Dealers auction salvage cars so that people can buy wrecked vehicles for sale
You need to know everything about the vehicle before you decide to buy it
November 02, 2020

I am a licensed salvage car dealer and auction salvage cars. People buy wrecked vehicles for sale for personal use as well as to make profits by repairing and selling them. However, if you are looking to buy a clean-title used car and fear that it might have a salvage title, as a salvage car dealer, here are my tips for identifying it.

Check the Car's Body Paint

If the body paint of the car chips off easily or there is a part of the vehicle that has a slightly different paint that does not match the rest of the vehicle's paint, the chances are that it is redone. Often, sellers with fraudulent intent try to hide damages with additional body paint.

Look for a CAPA Sticker

CAPA is the Certified Automotive Parts Association and it places a sticker on the vehicles whose parts or components get repaired after a collision. Check the vehicle for such a sticker.

Check the Wheels and Doors

If the car has wheel misalignment, it is possible that its frame received collision damage. Also, if any or more of the doors of the car show difficulty in opening or closing, it is possible that the vehicle underwent some major repairs.

Check the Hood and Electrical Components

A major collision, damaging the sides or the front of a car can render its hood misaligned. If it is not closing properly, that also indicates damages. Flood damages can cause the electrical components of a vehicle to flicker on and off and malfunction.

Check The Title

Ask the seller to see the title of the car as most states require a salvage condition to be mentioned in the title.

Check the Vehicle's History Report

Always check the vehicle's history report and review all the components of it carefully.

Get it Reviewed by a Trusted Auto Mechanic

Professional auto mechanics are experts in diagnosing problems with cars and a trustworthy one can warn and foretell you of the vehicle's condition.

If you are looking for wrecked vehicles for sale, a fair dealer will give you all the information about the vehicle's damages and repairs. I auction salvage cars with their history reports and offer a return policy to the buyers. You should be careful while buying used cars and this knowledge will help you not to get sharp-practised.
