Definition of a Salvage Truck

You may have heard of salvage trucks but are not exactly sure as to what they are. Some people believe that salvage vehicles are cars and trucks that are sold for parts because they no longer run. However, this isn’t always the case. If you would like to know the proper salvage trucks definition, read on and or visit www.globalautoauctions.com salvage trucks for sale section on the vehicle finder page.

Salvage Trucks Definition

Basically a "salvage truck" is a vehicle that has been given a salvage title by the Department of Motor Vehicles. There are many reasons why trucks may be given salvage titles. Perhaps the most common reason is that the truck was damaged due to an accident or flood and the insurance company determined it to be a total loss.

However, a total loss does not necessarily mean that the vehicle will not run. It only means that the insurance company declared that it would cost too much to repair the truck when compared to its worth. Another reason that trucks may be given a salvage title is because they were stolen and recovered but not claimed.
