A few years ago, I found a 2012 Cadillac Escalade ESV with an eight-cylinder engine and premium trim. It had run around 28,000 miles and was up for $14,950 with a salvage title. I was not specifically looking for salvage trucks for sale but could not keep myself from buying the one anyway.
My car had gotten into a front-end collision, and as the Escalade has different HID headlights, bumper, wheels, and interior trim, that meant a salvage title straight away. You see, its parts are usually dealer only or NLA or quite expensive. So I thought the opportunity was cool, and I jumped on it.
It had a state official salvage title, and I did not face any issues registering it in my name and getting it insured for both collision and liability. I asked the dealer to provide me with pictures of the original damage (although I would have bought it anyway), and he did so without a second word. It had received heavy damages on both its headlights, powertrain control module (PCM), and bumper.
I knew the replacements would not have been made with original parts, and soon enough, several of the repairs fell apart. Factory parts of the turn signal had broken, so they had RVTed it in. I repaired the broken parts myself with precision and installed them well to make the sticks everlasting.
After about two years, I ran into the back of a car with my Escalade but did not receive any trouble from my insurance company. They paid me a good settlement for the damages. I would never have dreamt of owning a Cadillac Escalade had it not been for wrecked trucks for sale. The comfort and luxury it has provided me with for years are well worth the little repairs I had to do on it.
